What I loved best was the childhood parts of it; the love between father and sons reminded me of this line by Kim Stafford, son of the poet William Stafford: "How long can you feel a hand, steady on your shoulder, after that hand pulls away?"kairuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11608839703020585886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8371572.post-58248504510801428242011-11-06T22:22:23.074-08:002011-11-06T22:22:23.074-08:00You're not alone.... i loooooved it SOOOOOO mu...You're not alone.... i loooooved it SOOOOOO much - I could and perhaps will write on why soon... aghhhAQ:https://www.blogger.com/profile/09712016389213637147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8371572.post-54627721883432585942011-11-06T12:56:58.407-08:002011-11-06T12:56:58.407-08:00I love "Tree of Life," and agree with Fr...I love "Tree of Life," and agree with Fr. Barron's that Malick's vision is cosmologically Biblical. I don’t agree, however, with the dualistic theory of "Nature" and "Grace." It oversimplifies the explanation of Job’s (humanity’s) great cosmic suffering, which must remain a mystery.

On a related “Tree of Life” note: If you like the music from the movie, Miss Whistle, you may also enjoy "Requiem for my Friend" by Zbigniew Preisner (Preisner's "Lacrimosa" was part of the Tree of Life soundtrack.)Lorrainehttps://twitter.com/#!/WritersKitchennoreply@blogger.com
