This Richard Serra piece, Clara Clara can be found again in the Tuileries, looking towards the obelisk in Place de la Concorde. My mother and I are in violent disagreement over his environmental sculpture. She dismisses it and I rather like the perspective it gives, as Paris opens up behind it.
I find Serra's installations
ReplyDeletemagnificent, as well as horrifying
due to the human sacrifice that
has been involved. Unless he
can move them with absolute
safety, they should remain in permanent locations.
