One for the table

Amy Ephron has now published two of my recipes on oneforthetable.com and has kindly asked me to write some other food-related stories for her. I don't have to be asked twice. I've just read Lucy's sweet piece about eat shrimps in Norway, which you can find here. It's funny how our childhoods paralleled each other's. Speaking of Lucy, she made the most delicious beef brisket with mashed potatoes and cabbage for supper the other night. And baked apples with honey ice cream! Francis's coat has grown long and she lay under the table snoring all through supper as John rubbed her ears and trotters with his foot. I still hate her with a vehemence unbefitting a nice girl like me (the pig, not my lovely friend!)
