Flannery O'Connor

Brad Gooch's new biography of Flannery O'Connor, who died, age 39, of lupus, is reviewed in the NY Times. She had astonishing blue eyes and "as a child she sewed outfits for her chickens and wanted to be a cartoonist." When I asked my Twitter pals yesterday which, in their estimation, was the greatest American short story of the last century, many cited "A Good Man is Hard to Find" by O'Connor.

You can read the entire short story here.
