Lean On Me

One would probably have to be living on top of a mountain in remote Xizang province to not feel the massive change going on in the world. It has been a long time coming, but come it will - it is not only much needed, there is no other way forward. As Ben and Jerry's so eloquently puts it, white supremacy must be dismantled. As I write this, there are protests in 50 US states following the death in Minnesota of the unarmed George Floyd. Images flash from DC, NYC, Los Angeles - right outside my son's window - of protestors and police brutality, of rage, long tamped down, erupting and spilling over into everything. White folk are asked to listen, for once, to support. The awful man in the White House has alternately fomented the violence, hidden in a bunker and staged an elaborate photo shoot in a church, making it all about him and his desire to "dominate"/take care of his poll numbers. But change is afoot. And is is welcomed. This shift is not just spiritual. It's part of everything we know.
