On Friday we're off to the Getty to see the Belle Heures of the Duke of Berry illuminated manuscripts. The Wall Street Journal piece is here. David Littlejohn says:The "Belles Heures" is the second most beautiful book I know of, surpassed only by the "Très Riches Heures," half-completed by the same three brothers for the same royal duke -- before all four died, presumably from the plague, in 1416.
