K'Naan

N is back from college and is very sweet in trying to introduce me to music I might enjoy from his quiver full of hip hop. K'Naan the rapper who grew up in Somalia and has probably seen more violence than most of the American-style gangsta artists, is pretty interesting. He has made two albums, one raw and one a little over-produced. Both are available on iTunes. His recent SXSW show was broadcast on NPR and is available here, which features the rousing anthem "Wavin' Flag." Listen to "In the Beginning" from The Dusty Foot Philosopher for the sheer joy of it, too.
