My tendency is to read three or four books at once and no sooner do I start a book that doesn't capture my imagination, I put it down and start on the next, thus shuffling my books until all have been read. Like movies, each book has its time and while a sunny day in July may not lend itself to a hike across the Himalayas, a more pensive September morning may.
Books should be enjoyed, not endured. This I firmly believe. My knuckles have been soundly rapped by those who do not understand my idiosyncrasies. Here are three books I'm loving:
My Journey to Lhasa by Alexandra David-Neel
A Happy Marriage by Rafael Yglesias
Blue Pastures by Mary Oliver
