This grey heron

I don't know if it's the same one that hooted loudly to wake us all up on Monday morning, stand on a rock outside my bedroom window, but I got this picture yesterday at the wildlife preserve at Sepulveda Dam.  There were three or four grey herons standing in a field, quietly.  Astonishing, really.

In shamanism, a heron signifies:  The ability to maintain balance. Has a secure inner foundation but not fixed. Clarity of understanding.
