According to KTLA the fire flared up again at 4:30am and jumped a fire line. It's now 2,220 acres. Pictures (including one of Minky's trainer, Chris, as they evacuate horses from Middleranch) are here. It's now blowing hard here in Laurel Canyon, so I can only imagine what it's like over in Sylmar.
** Update: 8:44am -- The fire is bad; winds are 60mph plus & 3,000 acres are now burned.
** Update: 9:34am -- The evacuation map & fire information is here on the LAFD blog.
** Update: 12:18pm -- Now 3,700 acres, 5% containment.
** Update: 2:26pm -- Two fires now burning: 6,000 acres burned, 2 people dead, KABC has live coverage here.
