Amour (Love)

Father to daughter discussing his wife coming home from hospital after a stroke:
"We've always coped, your mother and I. This is all a bit new."

Woman to her elderly father: "It's funny. Sorry if this embarrasses you. But when I came in earlier, I remembered listening to you two making love when I was little. For me, it was reassuring. It made me feel you loved each other and that we'd always be together."

From "Amour" by Michael Haneke.

Still haven't seen this film, must add it to the to-do list. Happy New Year!

I found this film almost unbearably painful. A really excellent work.
