Sad

There is a sweet little story in US Magazine about the marriage of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi last night. You know, the bride wore a pink dress, etc. Underneath, there are a slew of vile comments from the haters. This one struck me as particularly distressing:

10:12 AM Brent Says: God will destroy a country that allows the killing of babies and lets sodomites dance in the streets.

What kind of church teaches that God is a destroyer? I picture the Viking God, Thor in the heavens holding his thunderbolt, ready to smite anyone who sins. Doesn't it seem as if there is a fundamental leap we all need to take upwards & forwards?
