Both children are now out. Noon is at college and Mink is back to 8th grade. Suddenly all the resolutions I had for myself are looming large, hanging right in front of my face. "I know this sounds really dorky," I said to Minks as we drove to the bus this morning, "but when I was about your age a really popular aphorism was "Today is the first day of the rest of your life.""
