I was affected by an old clip of Charlie Watts being interviewed by a very bossy BBC reporter in the late 1960s, which is included in Scorsese's film about the Rolling Stones "Shine a Light." Watts was asked why he hadn't pursued his first love of art, instead of becoming a drummer, and Watts replied that he didn't think he had the talent. "But it's discipline, isn't it? Discipline that's needed to be an artist, surely?" said the pompous interviewer. Poor old Charlie ended up muttering something about an inferiority complex and the screen faded to black.
