Palin on ABC

I'm home and I'm really trying to be moderate.
But, I would love to hear what people think about the Palin/Charles Gibson interview.
I'm thinking "moose in headlights" but is that just too unkind?

She did have a bit of that look. I was bemused when she answered the question she wanted to answer, rather than the one she was asked... even when she was pointedly re-asked the same question. Her media trainers must be pleased.

Maybe a ferret in headlights. Moose know more about foreign policy. Cuz y'know, ALOT of them live right next to Russia--they can SEE it from one of the Alaskan islands! Having a nice view always gives one plenty of insight into crucial foreign policy matters, riiiiight?

I thought she looked more relaxed in the walking portion of what's been aired so far; but she's a high energy person who's probably used to fairly constant movement.

I also thought that asking if her opinion was hubris was backwards and sexist, and ignored actual questions of her past policies as indicators of likely future positions, like her protection of same-sex partner rights and benefits.

I think if Charlie Gibson's going to question her motives as prideful, he should be consistent in applying the query: a junior Senator running at the top of his ticket who's spent less hours at his desk than she's spent administering a state hasn't received the same question.

Yeah, and on a clear day, you can see around you….. On a clear day!!! Sweet jesus!

CG: “Do you support the Bush doctrine?”

[uncomfortable pause while the cogs in the brain slip furiously trying to gain purchase]

SP: “In what sense, Charlie?”

Plus, you have to watch this. Stick with it until McCain is asked about Palin’s foreign policy and national security experience/qualifications:

She knows more about energy than anyone in America. Anyone!

I feel a lot better now. Where's my ballot?

I want you to get up out of your chair, right now, go to your window, and open it, and shout, as loud as you can, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it any more!!!!”
