Both my children grew up on the Babar books (and the PBS television show) so I was filled with enormous nostalgia to come across this story in the Wall Street Journal: The Morgan Library & Museum in New York is exhibiting the first illustrations for each of the initial Babar books by Jean and Laurent de Brunhoff.
