Is that bad?

Just me & the Maharishi, propped up in bed on too many white pillows (his insistence, I'm a Lutheran at heart). Tea (our second cup) and laptops. This is what it has come to. "Oh good, they're coming out next week," he says, out of the blue. I know I should probably grunt in agreement even though I have no idea what he's referring to but he's in his own world and I'm in mine, thinking about the three hot cross buns sitting in Lucy's tupperware box in the kitchen, which absolutely have to be eaten today. I even know that there is a wedge of soft butter on the counter, just ripe for spreading. Is that bad?
