Japanese Meat
Everyone has been asking where the Maharishi buys his amazing meats. The answer is Mitsuwa, a Japanese market on Venice & Centinela (3760 Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90066 310.398.211). Why is the meat so much better at Japanese markets? A chef friend enlightened us: "The Japanese choose superior cuts of meat and their butchering technique is unique." Try the elegant chicken thighs, the thinly sliced Angus chuck roll for Shabu Shabu, and the belly pork, which is quite hard to find anywhere else in Los Angeles.
