My brother's lovely blog on Horse & Country TV this month includes a picture of his most excellent 1961 Daimler SP250 (Dart). Formerly flame red, this is the car that my mother drove us to school in when we were tiny, with its terracotta leather seats, no seat belts and the roaring vroooooom of a land speed record breaker.

Banging car! This post *may* have given me permission to blog (read: blather on) about our requistite car museum tours during family holidays in South Africa and America. (My husband is in the classic car/hot rod biz, and is the spawn of car fanatics.)
In the early 1960s my mother toured around Great Britain in an Austin Healey, which she deftly crashed into not one but three stone walls in Ireland. The longstanding family joke is that my inheritance is a stone wall in Ireland. I'll take it!
