Antony & The Johnsons

Lovely piece on Antony & The Johnsons here on NPR's Day to Day. Antony's voice is so sweet and almost ethereal.
...But his latest album, The Crying Light, shifts away from issues of gender and instead examines Hegarty's relationship to nature — growing things, flowers, mountains, streams — which isn't what you'd expect from an artist with such strong ties to downtown New York's world of drag queens and cabaret...
(I don't know what I'll do when Day to Day is finally cancelled in March 2009.)

Interesting piece on Antony, & the songs are really quite amazing-- especially (I thought) "One Dove" & "Everglade"-- the arrangment on the first seems about perfect for the song.

Sorry to hear "Day by Day" is being cancelled, tho-- didn't realize this.

& many thanks for following over at Robert Frost's Banjo-- I really appreciate it a lot.
