On this day

On this day ten years ago I couldn't reach my husband. He was boarding a plane from the east coast to the west early in the morning and no-one knew where he was.  We started watching the planes in transfixed horror and disbelief and no-one knew if there was going to be another plane. On the tv, they speculated that planes coming east/west might be targetted because they'd have enough fuel.  I still couldn't reach him.  I have never known such panic. I didn't hear from him until lunchtime, so many horrible scenarios having played out in my head. All the planes in US air space had been grounded and his had been grounded in Texas.

9/11 affected everyone.

God bless those who lost their lives that day. May they not have died in vain.  Let's pray for peace and understanding.

"Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua lucea eis."
