"Oh I used to be disgusted
and now I try to be amused. "
-- Elvis CostelloMaybe it's the rain, but I'm feeling disgusted. It's not an emotion I'm used to. People describe me as "sunny" but today, ladies and gentlemen, we have what may be described as a situation.
Los Angeles is a small town. Everyone knows each other. Especially in the movie industry. And, apparently, people talk. Like they're still in high school.
Maliciously. And without facts."I never said I was a victim of circumstance
I still belong, don't get me wrong
You can speak your mind
But not on my time"-- Billy Joel
The truth is, dear reader, I have a close girlfriend who has been iced out -- as if she were in the film "Heathers" -- by a group of catty, small-minded idiots who've decided that they know better. And she has been iced in such a way that I fear for her mental health in what has been for her a perfectly hideous year.
You know who you are. Ask yourself, is this really what she would have wanted. Is it? Really?
It is not my desire to be hideously enigmatic. I apologize for that. I will elucidate as soon as I am possibly able to do so.
For now, please remember to be kind. Isn't that all we, in our frail humanity, can do? I may get a prize for quoting Elvis Costello, Billy Joel and Plato in one breath, but here goes.
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.”
